Announcements/Welcome/Greetings
Kristin will start here by
welcoming everyone to worship, sharing a brief moment about the last song we
did being the theme song for the weekend and that it will be played throughout
the weekend. After Kristin is done and
invited people to greet one another, we will have a time of announcement by the
onsite coordinator. This person should
not take more than 2-3 minutes up front. After that announcement time, Kristin
will invite us to our time of offering.
Offering – 10,000 Reasons
After the offering, band stays on
stage
Drama
Funny drama about two couples –
one couple trying to share about their faith to another couple. Out of the end of this, we would like the
band to go right into Rescue.
Rescue/Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus
This is a great opportunity to
mix hymns with contemporary songs. If we
can blend these together, that would be great.
We have ideas on how to do this, but I am sure that TS can figure this
out.
Prayer
This is where TD can move off to
the side, but not sit totally down due to the nature of the closing of the
service.
Scripture - Kristin will do this
Sermon - This is Brian
Congregational Participation – For the Sake of the World
Underneath
TD is back up towards the end of
Brian’s message. The band is to start a
vamp here under the final part of the message.
Kristin will then come up and share a few words about the congregation
participation. After doing so, the band
will lead the congregation in a final singing of, FTSOTW

DeleteI have been asked about dress for this weekend, so I checked with the Conference Moderator to find out what people usually wear at District Conference. It sounds like they are all over the board - ranging from full suits to jeans. I think in our case, we should try to be somewhere in between. How do you feel about wearing khaki pants and trying to coordinate a shirt color?
ReplyDeleteNo khakis for Beth sorry. I don't think I'll have time to get any between now and Friday.
ReplyDeleteI would say that we could just use khaki pants and a collared shirt as an example of the level of formality for the group. Anything along those lines. Anyone agree?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rob. Good idea. That way no one should have to buy anything special.
